Day 1: Arrival in Zurich
We will organize a private transfer from Zurich Airport to your hotel, located in the heart of the city, close to the famous Bahnhofstrasse (shopping district) and Zurich's Old Town - perfect for your day of arrival to go spontaneously for a short walk and get an impression of Switzerland's biggest city.
A great way to discover Zurich and learn a little more about its history are the Free Walking Tours.
The twin towers of the Grossmünster are not only Zurich's prominent landmark, visitors can also climb up the Karlsturm and enjoy a breathtaking view over the city.
Day 2: Zurich to Grindelwald (guided):
Via our capital Bern, we will now make our way deep into the Alps. Stroll around in Bern's cute Old Town which is also a UNESCO world heritage site; and are you aware that the bear is not only the symbol of the canton? Bears live in the city center in a pit right on the other riverside of the old town (although they most likely will be in hibernation by the time of your stay) - but Berns' cute shops and historic Old-Town invite you to stay for a while.
Grindelwald is located on the foot of the notorious Eiger North Face. The last alpine challenge is feared and admired for centuries. Right next to it rise the snowy peaks of the Mönch and Jungfrau.
Day 3: Grindelwald:
This day is reserved to explore the Jungfraujoch: Icy air sweeps over your face, snow crunches underfoot, and the panorama almost takes your breath away: on one side the view of the Swiss Mittelland towards the Vosges, on the other the Aletsch Glacier, lined with four thousand meter peaks. Standing on the Jungfraujoch 3,454 meters above sea level, you can feel it with your first step: this is a different world. It's one you have to experience. As you've mentioned that your girls like trains: The old train up to the Jungfraujoch is a must then! So my proposal would be to take the train up and the Gondola down to save some time).
In the afternoon your guide takes you on a sledding run. Up the First mountain, we'll sled back to Grindelwald. A fun experience for every age!
Day 4: Grindelwald → Zurich
The ride through the Bernese Oberland is a highlight itself. Board the train in Interlaken and it will follow several lakes, especially the blueish Lake Brienz has to be mentioned here, and you'll arrive in Lucerne. Sitting on the foot of the mountain Pilatus, Lucerne is often voted as one of the prettiest cities in the world, featuring a colorful old town and 14th-century city walls, as well as covered bridges including the iconic Kapellbrücke with its 17th-century art.
We'll organize a chocolate workshop in the afternoon: Have you always wanted to try your hand at being a chocolatier? Then it's time! During this making session in the heart of Lucerne, a Chocolatier will share their secret tips and knowledge about the origin of Cocoa and their handcrafting.
We'll return to Zurich in the late afternoon.
Day 5: Zurich → Zurich Airport
Again a private shuttle will pick you up for the airport transfer.
Maybe you find some time to get some souvenirs or just enjoy a hot coffee on the shores of the Lake.
